La Burraia Farmhouse is the first house that you find at the end of the avenue at the entrance, surrounded by cypresses. In the first years of 1900 it was a Waldensian church, in which religious rites were celebrated. The Waldensian community was very important in that period, because of its agricultural experiments that were made in the ancient Farm. Today we still enjoy the fruits of their work, in fact in our park there is an enormous variety of plants and uncommon flowers (we have published a very interesting book that you can find at the reception). Formerly, this was the place where the butter was stored, this is the reason why it is called La Burraia (burro=butter). Here you will find large and very confortable rooms, from the windows you will enjoy the spectacular sight of the countryside. All rooms have been restored taking particular care to maintain the typical tuscan style, and many of them have a characteristic wooden ceiling and terra cotta original flooring.
